Take it easy!

Don't run too far just yet. Keep doing 500 meter runs this week, unless you feel you have it in you to run farther. If you haven't been running before, your body, heart and muscles may need some time to adjust. So if you're not used to working out all that much, don't dorry about distances or how far other people are running. So far, your only competition is your old self. Take it little by little. The goal here is to get you running 5k effortlessly within 6 months. There's no rush, though I'm sure many of you will reach that goal way before that, perhaps even by Christmas.

  1. can you explain the challenge a little better?(maybe i'm overanalysing). Are we going out to see how far we can run, and thats our whole workout? or are we going off, trying to run as much as possible but walking too in between, and the whole thing counts?

sorry to be so anal.... i just wanna do it right...!

  2. I did the 500 meters, and continued to walk for a half hour. The whole thing was tracked on Nike+. Should I change something to just track the running part?

  3. I'm still waiting for my nike kit to arrive in the post (I'm working very hard not to be cranky with my postie - I know it's not his fault...right??). Anyway, this has been a great motivator to get me out there - I even got my marathon running husband out jogging tonight, much to his surprise :)

  4. Every mile you run is stored in your body, à much more important place than the Nike+
