Challenges accomplishments rewards

The human psyche and body understands and treasures rewards. You might eventually get to a point where the run is its own reward. It's very rare to have achieved that kind of humbleness this early on.

That's why I want to talk to you about rewards. Rewards to keep in mind when it's hard to run, when you feel like stopping or switching to walking.
Our next challenge will be running one km without stopping.
Think of how you will reward yourself once you manage to do that. Is there an item of clothing you're dreaming of? A certain ice cream? A movie?

Tell me your rewards!

  1. Way to subtly spring that next challenge on us Emi ;) I'm a little freaked out by it. Rewards??? Hmmm, I have not given much thought to it. I am operating with a 1st generation ipod nano and have been thinking about upgrading. Perhaps I will put the order through for a new one when I complete the 1km challenge. Ummm, when will that be starting? I only just conquered 500m this evening, lol. It feels good to finally get started. I equipped myself with enough gear to get to the gyms 4 times a week. So I guess that's the plan :) I have such a love/hate relationship with that treadmill. Hope everyone else is doing well. If you've signed up but haven't completed your 1st run yet, get out there. Getting there the first time is the hardest.

  2. I'm going to treat myself to a facial at my favorite spa.

  3. So many rewards to choose from! I'm thinking for the first kilometer...maybe a manicure or a new smelly candle. Trying to stay away from food related rewards!

Leah - I just got the new nano and it's fantastic. The video camera is a surprisingly good quality and it has a built in pedometer. Big upgrade from my 1st generation nano.

  4. I managed to get thought the 500 meters last night - and though I was going to die. But I did it!!!
When I get though 1 km I think I'll grab my beau and go out to eat. It's such a treat to not have to cook (even thoguh I love to cook most days, it's so nice to not have to do all the planning, shopping and cleaning up once in a while).
